The cigarettes you smoke today
Are here today, gone tomorrow;
How you love your cigarettes!
And I wonder why: are you habituated
To self-loathing? For I must tell you
That many mistakes even I have made.
So strong you are, embodying to err
Is human to forgive divine. I think
Your hair receding does justice
To your soft jaw. Your teeth need to be taken
Care of, but they paint a pretty smile.
To know you so well, I must love you.
I accept you unconditionally.
